Well, today I started my fourth week of rotations here in India...but this past weekend I had the privilege of visiting Agra and the Taj Mahal. It was absolutely amazing. The 10 hour car ride there was definitely an experience in itself but it was well worth it. Seeing the Taj was very surreal. I had always seen it in books but never dreamed I would see it in real life and there I was standing in the Taj Mahal. It is still hard to believe I was there but it was quite the experience. We had many people walk up to us and ask if they could have their picture taken with us. You almost feel like a celebrity here as everyone stares at you and desires to have their picture taken with you. Agra was a great town but the people there are very persistent and pushy to get us foreigners to use their services or buy there handicrafts. While in Agra we also went to see the nicest hotel in India. It was very elaborate. It was nice to use a clean, good smelling, western bathroom! :)
So this week I am in Dehradun with a cardiologist and and OBGYN. Then I basically get to decide what rotations I do for the rest of my time here. I hope to spend a week in Bombay which is on the west coast doing an infectious disease rotation but we will see if that can work in the next 5 weeks. Hope everyone is doing well!

Rajath What a wonderful photo! Hubby and I renlctey watched an episode of Gordon Ramsay (he was helping out the owners of an Indian restaurant) -- there were some sort of steel containers which were used for take-away lunches (apparently these containers are common in India). What a WONDERFUL idea they were... they reminded me of an army mess kit.
