Finally some warm weather; enough sunshine to abandon hats, scarves and coats even, for now anyway!
Drove along the coast line then headed over to the island of Pag which is linked to the mainland by a bridge. We could have got a boat which would have saved us a lot of driving but we were both feeling a bit tight. Arrived at the campsite feeling a little down beat after working out that the boat would have saved us money due to the amount of petrol we had used.
Thankfully the campsite was open and there were even a couple of other people around, this lifted our spirits considerably. We managed to get a space right on the edge of the sea for very little money. The water was so enticing but it is November so surely too cold to swim!
There really isn't much to do on Pag in the winter so we were forced to relax, not something I find easy but I liked it and it's not so hard after all! Eventually the crystal clear water had to be sampled. We waded into the water uttering a wide selection of British expletives feeling quite proud of our courage, as a Croatian couple watched the idiot 'Brits Abroad'. It was bloody freezing although I have to say that one of us was much braver than the other, I will leave it to you to decide which of us it was! (for any WGGS reading this no swim abroad is in the same league as an early morning Bude swim!)
As an animal lover I must mention that the campsite was full of cats. I'm usually not that bothered by cats but this was crazy amounts of cats all desperate for attention and FOOD. It was quite annoying until a tiny little fluffy kitten adopted us and fell asleep on one of our chairs.... so we cooked him and ate him for tea! (ok so really I gave him some milk and then all the cats tried to adopt us.)
