I woke this morning, opened our balcony doors and watched the scenery go by, it was so tranquil seeing the many limestone mountains with overhead birds hovering, we definitely did not wish to leave this boat yet! 10am we joined a tea ceremony on the top deck and then disembarked about 11am.     It was hard to leave.

Today was a travel day mostly, and that gave us time to reflect on such a wonderful stay on Halong Bay.   We fly to Hoi An.

What a fun place this looks, even though it is coming on dark, Danang has a Cairns feel, tourist like, big resorts, outdoor cafes, lively at night. We travel on to Hoi An located about 45 minutes out of Danang, once a seaport for the ancient Champa Kingdom.   Our place of stay is - so far - my favourite hotel, Alminity Resort and Spa, good position, not far from the Old Quarter.   Rooms have a Japanese feel, pool is inviting and staff welcoming.
