We had the choice of a few tours this morning, we selected a visit to arrondissement 18, the suburb of where Moulin Rouge came about and where the Basilique du Sacre-Coeur looks down over Paris. To get to the top of the hill we join a cute little road train, that takes us to the front of the Basilique. After viewing the inside, we then have free time to explore the streets of Montmartre where there are many talented artists.
In the afternoon, we decided to visit the famous Musee du Louvre to view those artists that became famous for their amazing pieces be it sculptures or paintings. We've all been to the Louvre before, and anyone that has been would agree – you just can’t get around to see everything but what you do see is amazing, we actually had a very relaxed viewing even fitting in a stop at the Louvre coffee shop overseeing the grounds which was very special, a different look at the area. I’d say we were some of the last left in the grounds, so we saw the busy and the quiet in the courtyard, which was also a nice experience.
On the way back to the hotel, we stop at a typical French café, with the red décor, chairs and tables out the front and red awning, music playing in the background of all the French classics, just something you have to do when visiting Paree!
A short stop in Paris, always special when we visit, something about Paris……….yes - it’s the romance of the city that makes you think, yes I'll be back.
