Leaving mid morning, it was a really cold one, I'd say Fairbanks is heading into its winter for sure, however the sky was clear with the sun out shining.
Fairbanks to Anchorage, a truly unbelievable flight, especially being a commercial flight, the captain said he was early on the flight path and flew past Mt McKinley, he even went partly round it so both sides of the plane could see it. The wing looked like it was touching the summit when we tilted towards it on each side, the mountain was in clear view. It was like a scenic flight - fabulous.
Anchorage to Seattle, a longer flight, we saw the College Fjord with all it's glaciers from the air, and then for the first time I've heard of this, got to log onto Wi-Fi on the aircraft, unbelievable but true. This definitely made the four hours of flying fly! What a great idea, $16.95 for a day - cheap!
Seattle to Vancouver, felt like we went up into the air then back down, just over an hour flight, however by the time we passed through immigration and customs, because we were now back in Canada, we didn't get to our hotel until 9.30pm.
It was a long travel day, but it was quite a good one with an unexpected scenic flight and Wi-Fi to top it off!!
