Well it's Sunday and we're in Chiang Mai after a bit of a detour!! On Friday we were meant to get a 12hr train journey to Chiang Mai, we got up early (for us!) and got the ferry to the train station to get the 9.42pm train only to discover that that train and all the other trains that day, except one at 11.30pm, were FULL!! Hi everyone, we've spent the last couple of days in Ayuthaya, former capital of Thailand, which is about an hour and a half North of Bangkok. When we arrived yesterday by train we got a river ferry for 3 baht (5p) to our hostal and settled in. Went for a wander round the local food market and grabbed a bite to eat, who knows what it was but it was nice!!
