Hi everyone, we've spent the last couple of days in Ayuthaya, former capital of Thailand, which is about an hour and a half North of Bangkok. When we arrived yesterday by train we got a river ferry for 3 baht (5p) to our hostal and settled in. Went for a wander round the local food market and grabbed a bite to eat, who knows what it was but it was nice!! Then we hired bikes for 40p for the day and had great fun cycling round the old ruins and wats (temples) - see the picture which ia of Wat Mahathat! Later in the evening all the wats were lit up which looked really beautiful. Today we've just chilled with some people at the hostal. Heading up to Chiang Mai tomorrow on a 12 hr train journey!!
