Here we are, on the famous North Shore!! I cant believe we are really here, after a couple of nights in busy Waikiki, we were pleased to pick up a hire car and head across the island. To drive from one side to the other takes just under an hour as the islands pretty small. First things first, we found a pricey backpackers to stay in, along with 3 rats living in the cooker mmm nice. We headed into Haleiwa and bought ourselves a couple of brand spanking new surfboards, now that wed spent up, we then headed to the shops to buy Aaron the biggest chocolate cake we could get our hands on for his Birthday on the 30th. mission accomplished! We then wizzed from surf spot to spot, not actually believing that we were here. We surfed at a wave called Freddy Land this morning, and Aaron paddled over for a few sketchy waves at Velzy Land. Im still getting used to the fact that every wave here is a reef, even Waikiki has rocks everywhere, everytime I fall off I take on a strafish shape and hope for the best!!! nah, its not that bad..yet. Aaron wants to surf Ekahu Beach this afternoon, on the sandbar just down from Pipe. hmmm.
