I know I have my blonde moments but this morning I realised that the Toyota we've been driving for the past few days is in fact a Nissan.
The parrot place doesn't open till 10 but I've now caught Dads insomnia and woke early.
Dad has 2 Parrots at home so was in his element here. We were allowed into a large area where the birds flew freely. It was like butterfly world only with parrots and as nice as they are the b*****s bite!! Got some great photos and a bloody ear lobe.
Ferry back to the mainland.
We are leaving Vancouver island behind us now and it's been great, we've seen all kinds of wildlife and amazing countryside yet we hardly touched it. There are 1000's of places left to see, more hidden coves more towns more islands and If we had come a few weeks later in the year Orca whales swim around the coast. The people we met have all been so warm, friendly and ever so proud of their little corner of the world. I would recommend it to anyone. If anyone reading this does go to the island you must take a photo standing next to the sign for "Fanny creek" I regret missing that.
Orr man my Canadian is coming on really well but Dad struggles, even though they speak English he feels the need to use sign language. You should have seen him ask for an ice-cream .... I was howling, it looked like he was asking for a special favour from the poor girl.
