Harley and Anouk: We have been in Barcelona for 5 days. Our highlights have been:
FCB - this stands for Football Club Barcelona. We visited the stadium and saw lots of trophies that the club have won over 100 years. The stadium can hold 100,000 people. We got to go into the changing rooms, the commentator box and the players tunnel. It is hard to imagine all those famous players that walk through the tunnel and onto the pitch all the time. Both of us bought FCB football shirts with the number 10 and Messi on the back.
Chocolate Museum - our ticket into the museum was a dark chocolate bar which we ate straight away. We saw lots of sculptures made out of chocolate like Tin Tin, Asterix, Sponge Bob and Up Up and Away (the movie). We also watched some videos about where chocolate comes from, how they make it, and how it got shipped around Europe in the olden days. Back when it was first discovered people didn't know if chocolate was food or drink, but they mostly had it as a drink with spices and chilli.
Sagrada Familia - this church has lots of spires going up 100 metres. Inside it had lots of stained glass and patterned ceilings. The man who designed it (Antoni Gaudi), never saw it finished because he died in 1926 aged 74 when he was hit by a tram. The church is still being built today. Gaudi also built a park which we visited. It had other pieces of his artwork made out of stone. We thought they were a bit wacky and crazy.
Our Camp Ground - some of the activities that our camp ground has are a very deep swimming pool (2.35m), farm animals like donkeys, baby goats and a horse, and a small play area. The pool cools us off loads after having a hot day in the toasting sun. We swim about 2-3 times a day. We have had a couple of BBQ's (not very good ones) but have been able to toast marshmallows.
