Vikki: Today was our last day in Italy, as we now head east into Croatia. We spent today meandering around Murano Island, famous for its glass. We were lucky enough to find a workshop which had free demonstrations, so we all got to see glass blowing and how pieces are made. There are lots of shops selling the glass so we spent a bit of time wandering through them, picking up a few bits and bobs. Then it was off to Lido Beach (take 2) and this time with perfect weather, a nice avo at the beach. Raj purchased new sunglasses on the way (and then talked about it for the rest of the day - boring) but seems happy with his latest purchase (and how he looks in them - check out the photo). The kids voted on which ones to get and they think he looks cool/ok in them so that gets a tick. The obligatory gelato stop on the way back to the boat was a winner, with big scoops (Harley got the biggest) though its hard to agree on which flavour is the favourite, and then back to the camp ground for our final night in Italy.
Croatia is a new destination for all of us, so its exciting as it sounds great, reading up on it. Being close to the beaches will be a godsend in the heat. Having driven in Italy we are reasonably sure we can cope with the drivers so we say Ciao Ciao to Italy and Bok (hello) Croatia.
