Vikki: Today we spent the day in the Kamenjak Nature Reserve, the southern most tip of the Istrian Peninsula. Long dusty gravel roads lead to lots of isolated coastal hideaways, mostly stone beaches with great swimming and diving. While there are lots of people, because there are so many separate areas its not over crowded. We started at the southern most tip, an area known as Safari Bar. With a bit of creative outdoor entertainment for the kids (check out the photos) its a goat track down to a magic coastline, with swimming, diving and sunbathing galore. We finished the day up the coast in an inlet area boarded by a pine forest, great for a bit of shade, but still fab swimming. Highly recommended to one and all.
Raj: I would have to rate today as one of the best days of the trip so far. Just over half way into our long vacation I needed a rest. It was hard not to smile all day long in such a beautiful surrounding and perfect conditions (building from yesterday). Crystal clear warm waters, fish all around, deep diving holes and cliffs to jump off with the kids. Magic. We finished the day with a lovely massive meal at the restaurant next door (good thing they do doggy bags). We now head to Split tomorrow for 4 nights for more of the same. Yahoo!
