Well it all started nicely. Trev goes off to the local bakery and bought some croissants and chocopane which we devoured with coffee. Delicious
Then it’s off on our travels for the last push to the Channel coast. I spent hours looking at places to stay as I wanted a good three bed house and plenty of room so I booked one that looked the part and crossed my fingers!!
Approaching Caen in a small place called Cagny I slowed down in traffic. Unfortunately behind me, a female french driver decided not to brake and used my tailgate and bumper as a stopping point. Alas the van has a dented rear end and the tailgate will not open. We can get to our clothes but the camping gear is now inaccessible so no more sleeping under canvas!!!! Shame!
After an hour of swopping details by sign language, talking to my insurance company on the telephone for half an hour, and helping our assailant with her problems we were on our way to our next house. Well what a place! (See photo) Four bedrooms two bathrooms and all new accessories we want for nothing. It’s the best so far and only 90 euros a night. Bloody bargain. Time to relax now and unwind!
