Hi all. We left our wonderful gite reluctantly after a hearty breakfast of toast jams and fruit juices which was heavenly sat outside with the birds. There was a catbird nesting in the soffits above the kitchen window!!
Back on the road and a leisurely drive for 85 km we arrived at Limoges airport where I arranged to meet up with another Trevor who was down from Dunkeswell in Devon to look at some aircraft. The flight instructor at the airport Rodger agreed to put us up for the night in his house. While we waited in the flight school we decided to take trip to a nearby memorial site that Keith had read about. Trev came too so it was four men in a van!!! The site is at Ouradour sur Glane and is most reflective. Back in 1944 a group of 200 SS troops ransacked the small village and burnt it to the ground. Men women and children were massacred for no reason that can be justified. A very somber and moving place.
