We really enjoyed our 2 days exploring the city. Miraflores locks were very interesting and I (Jon), couldn´t stop taking photos! (Lila got bored after watching the 50th ship go through!)

We wondered around the beautiful Casca Viejo by night. A charming historical quarter with a lovely atmosphere. Although the surrounding areas are supposed to be quite dangerous, Casco Viejo itself is where the president lives, hence armed guards on every street corner. We are surprised to see that just across the street from the impressive presidents palace the buildings have been neglected to near ruin.

Spent a night relaxing on the Amador causeway enjoying the skyline views of panama city. We ate dinner in a local restarant. I ordered a beer and in my best spanish attempt I asked how much it would cost. After telling Lila and ranting in shock that it cost $7.50 (more expensive than Miami!), it turned out that it was infact $7.50 for both meals, drinks and the entire total bill including the service charge!! Don´t worry i´m working on my Spanish skills!!
