Decided to visit Cambodia before flying home so booked a 4 day 3 night tour over land.
Picked up in pattaya taken to the border were we were met by a young man who tok us through the process of crossing the border on foot. Next a bus to meet with our driver for another 2 and half hour journey to the hotel. Was not quite sure what we were letting ourselves in for as did not seem well organised. But after a pleasant meal and a good night's sleep, our guide arrived. Jim was very knowledgeable explained what he had planned for the day. First Ankgor Wat one of the oldest and largest temples in Asia. What an awesome place started off as a Hindu temple when built but later the King of Cambodia had it converted to a Buddhist temple. A must see but get a good guide as lots to see and learn about the site.
As there are several sites to see arround Seim Reap we spent a great day visiting 5 in total.
Day 3, visited a Buddhist temple with the story of how a the King of Cambodia tried to stop his son from being a Monk, really interesting was in picture around the walls outside the main room where the people visit to make offerings and pray.
Onwards to one of the killing field sites, really sad how Pol Pot had so many of his people tortured and killed in such a short space of time. This is a place I would recommend you visit it will open your eyes as to how lucky we are now.
Cambodia we will visit again but spend more time here. Such warm people
