Walking Street you need to be very open minded as you see some very strange sights. The ladyboys are beautiful you are hard pressed to say which are the real women. Loads of bars for all tastes, just don't take your kids strickly over 18.
Plenty of other bars and restaurants so you can always find something to eat even for the fussiest person.
Plenty of places to shop you can barter in the markets or if that's not your thing go to the malls or the fixed price shops
Hotels there are many from the low end backpacker to the 5 star luxury, we stayed in the April Suites, what a little gem tucked in a back area, it was clean,well kept,staff great. The pool on the roof was lovely and warm. Only downside food is brought from sister hotel August Suites so not always the best and the bar closes at 7pm. Other than that worth a stay.
