great photos, reminds me of our travels to Peru.... I remember distinctly meeting an Irishman who had married a Perunvian and settled in teh Colca Canion which is at the arse end of nowhere, but a great vantage point for tourists to travel for MILES in a 'compact and bijou' minibus to get a very sore arse to visit lovely hot springs and see Condors climbing up on the early, very early, morning thermals. Anyway, this Irishman who had married a peruvian had decided to set up the only Irish themed bar in Peru and had a hand-made Guiness sign out side his pub, which sold cans of the black stuff. Anyway, the main point of this saga is that he went mountain biking up and down the canyon with his brother-in-law, and had narrowly lost his last race due to a puncture - very nasty long thorns.
So, enjoy the springs. I had a nice bath the other night. We have our Petreavie 10Km run next weekend (14th) - it starts and finishes on the Fife side of the road bridge.

Lance Armstrong won the Tour de France.... and is now retired.... anyway, my time now betwen 7pm and 8pm is free once again! Went cycling in Cardrona (Nr Peebles) last week - excellent coupld of days on the cross-country/downhill trails there... amazing. The on saturday we drove bakc for a BBQ in Linlithgow for friedns who have just coem back from NZ for a few weeks, then Marie and Arran and Amy went to see Noddy in Glasgow, while I stayed at home and bought a tent as my kite-boarding was canclled due to lack of wind!!!

Hi Murray, Cake good.Salternas- ??? take your word for it. Hot springs- terrific. Raining here now and your dad pleased that water butt fillingup - his pleasures are simple and few. Sorry to say Brain Applegate died quite suddenly this week, Dilys fine and so on.My horrendous double pneumonia ( otherwise nasty chest infection) getting better and I may live, as long as my addiction to Sudoku doesn't get any more serious...at least I escaped having to attend Public Board meeting till 9pm which is a fate worse than death. Cruelty to health service employees I call it. ( is my spelling ok, Duncan?). Cat now has large tooth mark on shoulder- is the hedgehog biting back? Not winning friends by purring alot at 5am- and if anyone thinks it is just purring- think machine gun at top volume- this cat is a Serious purrer. Needs a puppy to take her mind off it. I m gonna have a fab weekend thanks.. i m off to the hot springs! The showers are rubbish here so it s gonna be bliss. Off for a date with a big slab of cake now. Thank god I walk everywhere here otherwise i"d already have doubled in size. Found shop selling veggie salternas today... fantastic! Hope you all have a great weekend! love me.

I found a baby hedge hog the other day too and fed it cat food which it seemed like better than the slugs I tried to give it. Do they have Hedge Hogs in Peru ? Have you seen any Paddingtons yet ? Just found hedgehog in the border doing a little light weeding as bored with sudoku and crossword ( I was doing the weeding not the hedgehog ) .Your father doing tax form , am keeping out the way, Mr brown appears not to be No 1 in the popularity stakes currently...

Oh dear... I can only apologise that Dncn felt the need to share the bowel mvemnts of our son with you (and rest of world). Anyhooo, sitting at my desk not being jealous at all. Lance Armstrong is still in yellow in the Tour de France (Knew you wanted to keep up!) and I'm waiting for the results of an interview assessment centre I attended yesterday (monday) - might know before the end of the week! we're alos off on thursday friday to Peebles to see some friends and for me to cycle round Glen Tress. TWO DAY week! Hurray!
