Zoe and Ed's Travels
We have almost come to the end of our time in Sri Lanka. We have been in Dambulla for the past three days, and have visited the cave temples here as well as doing trips out to Sigiriya and Polonaruwa. Both of these sites were very impressive, but it was very hot walking around. The climb to the top of the rock at Sigiriya was a little hairy at times, and a little tiring as we'd timed it so that we were doing it at midday in the full sun. Luckily in Polonoruwa it rained a bit on and off throughout the afternoon, and so we were able to cool down a little. The cave temples in Dambulla are a little smaller scale and not quite as impressive (mainly because we've been to better ones in China).
Tomorrow we head back to Colombo to get our flight to Bali. Tomorrow will also signal the completion of exactly 3 months on the Indian subcontinent. We're looking forward to a change of scene. We managed to find a restaurant doing great curry and rice in Dambulla, so we've signed off in style on the food front.
