What a lovely day we've had in Portree. After a lazy start we went for a wander around town. About lunchtime we went for a cruise on a fishing boat out around the inlet checking out the stark scenery as well as the wildlife,spotting a couple of nesting eagles. Here we are in a little hotel in Portree on the Isle of Skye for the next 2 nights. We left Oyster Inn this morning in dull weather unlike the beautiful day we had yesterday. We have travelled over contrasting countryside today, first to Oban, a most beautiful port town wrapped around a harbor & steeped in history. Today we headed into Glasgow to check out the sights including the Gallery of Modern Art before we headed north to Dumbarton then Ballock (on Loch Lomond) where we took a boat cruise on the Loch which was great. After driving out of Lismore on Thursday afternoon about 2.30 we had about 30 hours on the road via car, train & plane until we landed in Glasgow, Scotland after a short stopover on Dubai. (22 hours of that was in the air with about 4 hours sleep in total!) the photo showed us looking pretty weary in transit! After a 12 hr sleep we're ready to head off!
