Well! Finally time to up all on our travels. Singapore after we left Bali on 27th and 28th June. My first time in Singapore so quite an eye opener. We met up with good friends of Andre and Patricia's in Stephan, Sharon, Sean and Sheena. Lovely family. Bade Andre and Patricia a sad farewell in Singapore too, they are off to KL for a week. Dick, Jeannie, Jim, Nathan and I continued onto Madrid, via and unscheduled stop in Colombo (WTF???) which left us very little time in Dubai to look at duty free. An amazing airport though. Arrived in Madrid on 29th after a marathon 14 or so hours. Met Dylan and his lovely senora Carmen. We are staying in the old sector of Madrid, some very old buildings. I love the lifestyle, siesta, sangria and tappas on tap literally! Once again western world, take a leaf. We did the foot tour around our general area which is really interesting, particularly for people watchers which we tend to be. A real mismatch of cultures here and the Police on what seems to be every corner. Went to a Flamenco dance last night, Carmen is a dance teacher and she said they were very good. Off to dinner tonight at 10pm and then to watch the soccer which starts at midnight Spain time. Apparently it is something to see if Spain do well (I wouldnt have a clue!!!) We bid farewell to Jeannie, Jim, Carmen, Dylan and Carmen tomorrow, they are off to the southern region to meet Carmen's family. d*** and I are off to Granada, Seville and then we meet up with the crew again in Barcelona.
