Backpacking in Europe
Sarah C, Steve, and I went to our first interview today. It went really well! The girl has a degree in tourism. She was very insightful. She gave us a lot of good information and set the bar very high for our future interviews. We thanked her for her valuable time and helpful info then left to find our next target. We walked around the market but couldn't really find any. So we just went shopping... LOL. Sarah took us to this leather shop where I bought my leather sandals!! They're great! I love the business owner. He's the first Greek that I have met that knows how to do business and knows to treat the customers kind. All the other Greeks are rude and always try to give you the "American" price.. by jacking up the price way high! The owner gave me a discount so I got my sandals for 10 euros instead of 13. Steve bought a purse for his wife too. He paid 18 and we saw this exact same purse somewhere else for 34 euros! Good deal :) I will definitely go back again.
At night, after the seminar, Rob, Sarah L (aka Lambs), Steve, Grace and I decided to find Chinatown. We took the metro and then walked a LONG way to find it.. It really does not look like Chinatown at all.. It is just a few Chinese shops here and there. We always around the blocks several times and could not find one single Chinese restaurant. It got a little too late, 9:30pm. Rob decided to give up so Lambs and him went home to get gyros instead. Steve, Grace, and I still wanted to try our luck. We asked around some more and finally someone gave us a business card and told us the right direction... We found the tiny little restaurant in the middle or no where. We ordered stir fried noodles, chicken with vegetables, and hot and sour soup. We were so desparate and hungry, we wolfed down everything. Later, we took the subway home. The food really was not good at all. It was way too salty.. Even my little brother who doesn't really cook can make better food than this! Grace even got a headache because of the food... Oh well, at least we got fed!
