Not a bad night bus arrived in at around 10am. Caught a taxi to the cheapest hostel in the Lonely Planet. It was pretty average but was going to do as we couldn't be bothered looking elsewhere. In Palenque we hoped to change our 2pm ticket for the 12 noon one since we had checked out of our hotel and were back in town early, but we didn't have any luck so we had 2 hours to kill at the bus station before our bus. We caught a 6 hour bus from Campeche to Palenque town, on the bus we met this couple from Belgium so we caught a taxi to a small town just outside of Palenque called El Pachen which is closer to the ruins. We found this great hotel for $25 a night own cabin and massive pool. We arrived still alittle hungover from the night before in Cancun. The bus was about 5 hours and the whole time we were thinking it was only going to take 3.
