Arrived safe and sound in Ubud after a mammoth journey due to my back of a fag packet planning...obviously didn't find the critical path this time!
First impressions are good, my accommodation is better than expected, pool, aircon, wifi, TV and off the main street which is good. I ventured out for dinner in the pouring rain and dived into the first place I could find which happens to be the Jazz Cafe, apparently quite famous. Treated myself to Greek food and a mojito which was good after eating rubbish throughout the journey and then I was ambushed by the loudest and craziest American in the world who had given me her life story within 5 minutes. Think Speidi Heidi going through the hippy crystal phase...annoying but entertaining! Anyway I clearly was a bit boring for her because she soon dumped for some fellow American 'Eat, Pray,Love' women. Hmmm...hope it's not all like this!
I've booked a day at a spa tomorrow so hopefully can avoid the other walking cliches, however on closer inspection one of my massages has something to do with 'Chakras'..oh no perhaps I am one of them!!
I'll try and get some pics on the blog of the tour now I have a few days to chill and will fill you in on my hippy phase.
If I come back with dreads please someone have a word!
