We arrived into the beautiful Cairns on friday night.We quickly located our hostel and headed for a real treat of all you can eat chinese! Saturday we explored the, slightly smaller than expected Cairns. We visited the market and sat at the towns impressive lagoon.That night we met up with our friends steve and caylay from Canada. It was steves birthday so had afew drinks,ending up in an irish bar with a band playing. Sunday we were up bright and early to catch our boat "passions of paradise" to the great barrier reef. Surprisingly it took 2 hours on choppy sea to get to the outer reef. It was stunning, we landed on a small island and snokled back to the boat. The coral reef was out of this world, so many colours and shapes. The marines life was crazy we saw turtles, stingrays and all sorts of weird multicoloured fish ! After a Moorish buffet lunch we headed to paradise reef for a spot more snokling and sailed back to town under wind power. Monday 7th was another day dedicated to "travel" we took a jet star plane from cairns to melbourne. Then a bus from airport back to Clynton and Margaret's at Heathcote.(where our. Australian adventure began)!!
