At the start of getting to Byron, i started to realise the Australian leg of my tour was coming to a close! with only a month left, and once spot X was over, all the things i had booked through Peterpans would also come to an end! So coming to Sydney it felt different to arriving in all the other places, one because there was no real plan just rock up and do the touristy thing! and two i was beginning to get tired of the back packer life, and i was totally over packing my bag up every day, and keeping everything lock up! i needed to get my teeth into something, like work! surfing had become a great distraction! but, with surf bored hire pretty pricey surfing every day wasn't an option! The plan was to spend roughly two weeks here and to weeks in Melbourne! my friend Bex from the Woolshed, who was in Sydney (where she lived with here cousins) came to meet me at the bus station! and showed me to my hostel! I was excited to get to Sydney, the drive in was amazing you see the city from miles away! and as you drive in, you drive over the harbour bridge with the Oprah house on your left! (not as big as i imagined!) but still very impressive!! The first day i just chilled, i was still tired from 4 days of surfing plus you don't really sleep on the night bus! but we went out in the evening! that night i must of bumped it to 20 people i knew, just from Cairns! and it goes with out saying that i should bump in to Matt! (my stalker) of course i would, how could i not! many had been there for new year and where moving on in the next couple of days! the next day was all about sight seeing! the bridge, the Oprah house, the botanical gardens! that sought of thing! Over next couple of days things changed, i was becoming restless, maybe even bored, the fun had gone out of travellings!! i was still going out and seeing things! but every choice i made was made with the thought of money in my mind! i had budgeted for the east cost and as i'm coming to the end of the trip! the savings are also coming to an end! and i don't want to go in to my Thailand money! and it was the first time i had started to really think about home! and how would life be when i got back!! almost forgetting that i still had a whole month in Thailand to go! so i needed to take action! and do something else! Every one i had spoken to who had been to Sydney and Melbourne had said "you will like one or the other!" (i'm yet to meet some one who liked them evenly!) every one who knew me had told me that i would prefer Melbourne! a very sport minded city! So i thought there's no point in staying in a city where your not happy! so i have brought my bus ticket forward! i now leave on the Friday 13th! (lucky for some, i guess!) i then started looking at hostels in Melbourne! and due to rising hostel prices, because of the Melbourne tennis open! i looked for some work too! i've spoken to some soccer coaching companies! and one looks very positive! Over the next couple of days i will be going out to see the rest of Sydney, like Bondi and Manly beach! i'm also going to see Sydney fc play! which will be good as i'm really missing the football now!
