Wadi Rum
I just plopped myself on a Camel and started riding into the desert. I never thought in my whole life that I'd see the dirt on the floor be rock solid and cracked, or that I'd see the wind. We actually saw Vortex's whiling towards us and then sand would get in our eyes! A lot of sand got in our eyes when a Vortex was coming and we were on a big sand dune! I thought it was cool riding on the dune because you could see the camels feet sink into the sand.
After the camel experience it was time for a Jeep ride to the camp.
On the Jeep ride we make many stops
1st: A water spring that has the only green in the middle of the desert.
2nd: a giant sand dune built up by the wind blowing on the sandstone rocks. Once Dad got to the top he saw a turtle fossil. We then found out that this used to all be underwater. It is so much fun running down the giant dune!
3rd: There was a big gorge that we got to walk through! I was surprised at how many puddles there were in the gorge.
4th: The arch is a place in the sandstone where it formed an arch and you can go stand on top of it. It was so scary standing on top of it because stand stone isn't that strong. I bet if there was a pebble of sandstone I could crush it within 1 second with my pinkie.
Our camp was waiting for us now and we had to go. It looked awesome and was in a good place. For instance after we got settled and had a welcoming orange juice we went climbing on the rocks and it was so fun. After a while of climbing the rocks it was time for dinner and they had a generator running for one hour so we could brush our teeth, and get ready for bed. We went to sleep with the sun, which made the desert look spectacular at sunset.
I slepted alright but not the best. My bed was full of sand. When we woke up though I found Captain O, Rosie Meets World, and mom all walking the guard dog, Alex. He was so adorable!!!
It was awesome to feel what it's like to be a ★★★★★Bedouin.
