A day in the life...............
Well we are well and truly installed in our new home. We are staying with a retired couple called Olga and Fernando. Olga was a teacher and Fernando was an accountant so has much in common with Mike. He also has a 1950 plymouth which he spends many happy hours reparing and doing errands in. The house is easy walking to our class room which is in the house of Roberto who is in his 50s he also teaches in night school. He has a dog called Sisi and you can see a picture of them both in the album.
Here is what we do all day!
We get up at 7.30 and have breakfast. Fruit, juice, eggs and bread and lovely cuban coffe. We walk to school which takes about 5 minutes and we start lessons at 8.30. Our lesson lasts until 12 noon ish and we return home for lunch, rest and to do some homwork. Harriet has her percussion lessions with Marcos at 3 pm and she is doing very well! Mike has his salsa lesson with Julia at 4 pm and is also doing very well. she is very strict with him though! After salsa mike usually in need of a drink so we go to the bar on the corner of the road and have a beer before returning home for a shower and dinner at 7 . during the evening we may go into town to practice some salsa or meet other students or if we are tired just stay in and go to bed early.
As you can see we are very busy and our heads are buzzing with new spanish words, spanish grammer and bongo and salsa rythms.
We´re off to Baracoa this weekend so will update you on our return. Hasta luego Harriet and Mike
