Monday 21st December – Monday 28th December
An early rise of 5am and a stressful time waiting for the late taxi to take us to the airport, we made it though and were of flying down to Perth. We definitely decided that it was the right thing to do given the circumstances (and in a few days it would show to be deffo worth it when a cyclone swept through broom right were we would have been staying). Anyways we arrive in Perth and Melissa kindly met and picked us up from the airport before driving us back to her and David’s house. We got to meet the infamous buster and Lucille their dogs. We done a little shopping and had dinner that evening in the park with the dogs.
On Tuesday 22nd Corinne went Christmas shopping with Melissa and Wolfie stayed at the house and booked some of the flights for Asia, booked the ferry and accommodation for Rottnest Island and then watched a little bit off Little Britain in the evening.
We spent the day relaxing and exploring the local area on the 23rd, very much a lazy lax day. But then Christmas eve was a little different we spent the morning in the city Corinne got a pic with Santa Claus and his elf, we had a nosy around the shops spent the boarders voucher on some cool aussie bits. The evening we spent on the swan river boating down by blackmore reef which was really nice.
So CHRISTMAS DAY we started with presents and David cooking some awesome French toast, Claire (David’s mum) and john came around as did Peter and Andrea (David’s siblings). We then spent an hour at the beach soaking up the summer xmas sun before showering and having a smos-gord lunch at Claire and Johns house which was amazing. A light nap followed by dinner at David’s dads house were we had a gorgeous bbq, the home made rissoles were the best. It was nice to watch the sunset over the sea.
On Boxing Day morning Wolfie, David and John went sea fishing caught some herring and other fish, before trying our luck in the river were we just kept catching blowies (Puffer fish). Whilst this was going on the girls went to the Myer’s sales and Melissa got some bargains. We then just spent the rest of the day relaxing and sleeping.
On Sunday 27th it was David’s 27th birthday, so we started the morning with banana pancakes and presents we got him a chocolate fondue set as he’s a bit of a chocoholic. We then had some snorkelling at the beach before heading out for lunch at the fig tree courtesy of David’s dad (thanks Ian). In the evening we went fishing on the nudist beach at swanbourne were apparently there was this bloke in the nudie and Wolfie was completely oblivious. Later that evening Claire bought around a huge fruit salad and ice cream which was really good.
We spent Monday 28th in Fremantle meeting up with a work friend off Wolfie’s called Fiona, we had lunch at little creatures which was amazing the frites were so good and it was really nice to catch up with Fi having missed her in Melbourne. We looked around a couple of surf shops in the sales took in some of freo before monging out in the cinema watching the new Sherlock Holmes movie.
