Wedding weekend - Thursday 20th , Friday 21st, Saturday 22nd and sunday 23rd

September 2007 Carbis Bay Cornwall

Thursday 20th

We set off from my (wolfie) house in runcorn after a quick trip to the sunbeds (naughty, naughty) but am honestly not a sunbed queen was all for the wedding and i don't intend going back. We had a Fairly quick drive covering the 380 or so miles in around about 4 hours or so. dropped the suits of at the dry cleaners and the headed to check in at our travellodge in Hayle. we met up with corinnes sister and her fella Grant before heading to Newquay for a curry at the Mahajah (best curry in the uk). we also met up with gemma and andy (gemma is corinnes head bridesmaid) and they joined us in the festivites. i don't think we can go to cornwall without a visit to the mahajah for a curry hmmmm chicken pasanda and peshwari naan bread. we then drove back nd got our heads down for the night, some much needed rest before the weekend.

Friday 21st

one of the most manic days in my life. we spent much of friday morning wraping gifts and writitng thankyou cards for all thoose who have helped out at the wedding before rushing to check out and getting corinne to her appointment in St Ives for her nails to be done. after that me and grant spent 1/2 unpacking my car at the Carbis bay hotel once i had checked in. corinne shortly arrived back at the same time cookie turned up after his big journey from the USA (imagine borat saying it) all the way just for our wedding. once corinne came back she got what she needed and we say our goodbyes till the day after. some traditions are best kept. me and cookie then spent a bit off time cathching up before heading off to newquay to pick nick the photographer up and the suits from the drycleaners.

once everything was done we got cleaned up and headed to St Ives fro some tea with cookies family and/but we couldn't find anywhere all the restaurants had to shut early cause of a water shortage. we eventually found a chinease place still up so tabled up and had some grub. afterwards we meet up with friends and family at the slope inn and drank till late. before diaster nearly struck as i was getting in the car the door was closed on my hand causing my fingers to swell meaning that possibly the ring may not fir arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, but after a bit of ice and nuring it came down but a close call none the less.

Saturday 22nd September 2007 'the Wedding'

the mornign started off misrable and dull i met early with stu to go off and check the surf out but there wasn't any what a big pile of poop. so headed back to the hotel and had breakfast on the balcony with cookie overlooking the sea watching the day brighten up and the sun come out. i stood on the balcony making the final adjustments to my speech as nick the picture fella stood there taking snap shoots off me. i then kicked them all out and jumped in the bath for a 1/2 hour soak and done all the male grooming bits, whilst am sure corinne was at the hairdressers of getting her make-up done. after the grooming nick had returned from seeing corinne and the bridesmaids getting ready to take more pics of us getting ready.

once ready we all headed down stairs at around 11.20ish and i spoke to the registar ladyee's and then started getting a little nervous. i waited in the ceremony room and my mum arrived she started crying and so did i both with thoughts of my dad who passsed away 5 years ago. after 5 minutes outside and a drink of water i calmed myself down and awaited my future wifes arrival.

the registar returned after speaking to corinne and i took a deep breath i heard everyone stand and the doors open and then the music 'pachebel's canon' which we had chosen. i waited for a minute listening to the cameras click and flash before turning and seeing her. for the firsttime in a longtime i was speechless. Corinnes looked amazing. so after the vows, readys from gary, ross and katie and more tears all around we were husband and wife. (i'll be honest i did cry a little when i saw corinne)

We then wnet outside and had our first drink on the lawn overlooking the bay, the day had turned out great the sun was shining was warm and a slight breeze. we then posed for our many pictures and shared drinks and laughs. afterwards we sat down for the wedding breakfast and the food was amazing, and so were the puddings. then there were the speeches and more drinks and tears. didn't think corinnes dad was gonner make it all the way through his brilliant speech. i winged mine and cookies was amazing.

we then had some pictures on the beach and nick has us doing all kinds of funny things , before heading for some quite time upstairs and opening our pressies for each other. the time seem to fly and before long we had to put our posh stuff back on and head down for the reception. after having somemore amazing food laid on by the carbis bay we got down to our first dance 'girl i wanna lay you down' by ALO. what a funky song. after more beers and dancing and corinnes grandma swearing at me was time for bed. xxx

Sunday 23rd

the mornig after we had breakfast bought up and read the guest book, we sat and opened presents and looked at pictures, before getting ready and setting off st ives, dropping off stuff for peole to take home for us and having some quite time. by now most people had set off for but we did bump into a few people in st ives. we done a little shopping and then headed back to the hotel. late evening when the rain had stopped we got a takeaway, lit some candles and opened a bottle of wine on the balcony. listening to the waves crash against the shore.
