First offical full day in Ho Chi Minh City. It is still surreal that I am in Vietnam. Didn't get up to too much today, as I tried to nap for a majority of the day. Met up with the rest of the Contiki group at 6 and a lot of people are from Canada (mostly from Toronto), then Australia, and then London. The people seem really nice and so does the tour guide. We went out for dinner around 8 pm and I ended up ordering a chicken salad that came with chicken (that tasted like fish), rice, and some salsa dressing. After dinner we went wandering down the streets and stopped off at a roof top bar to have a drink. The streets are still pretty insane, as the cars and scooters honk at you if you are in the road and blocking their way, but it is getting easier to maneuver around them.
Ended up coming a lady cooking a full octopus on the streets of Ho Chi Minh, it surprisingly smelled nice like bbq chicken.
Our tour guide also informed us to be very careful when drinking. As there is a bar around the corner where our hotel is at that serves fake booze; apparently it can make you temporarily/permanently blind. So the best booze of choice to drink is either rum or beer. So, knowing all of that now, I will be only drinking beer if we go out. It is scary thinking that people are willing to put other people's lives in jeopardy just to make a few extra bucks.
But, most of the local people we have come across have been very friendly and more than willing to help you if you require any assistance.
It is still insanely hot, I am drenched with sweat at every moment. But enjoying it so far.
Tomorrow we are off to Mekong Delta to take a cruise and see the floating markets. Our overnight stay is with a local family overnight.
For now, I am off to bed.

Paula I will! I don't plan on drinking too much while I'm here. Let me know if it does snow tomorrow, hopefully it doesn't last for very long!
