This is a beautiful and very different part of Argentina. We're in the north now so its very flat pampas. In this area though the high rainfall has created this vast wetland area which is made up of marshes, lakes and floating islands. Areas of water hyacinth and lily gradually collect enough soil to support other plantlife, so some of the islands have small trees on. Due to leave BA today on a night bus. We have had a week here and it's been very hot, in fact we're more or less as white as when we arrived because it's been too hot to be in the sun. it's a handsome and vibrant city, and feels very European. Somebody's birthday today. In her honour a trip to Estancia Cristina and the Upsala Glacier today. This required a very early start. 'Alternative tour to Perito Moreno Glacier' today. This takes a different route to the glacier with a wildlife focus and you do a short hike on the way. Unfortunately our tour guide seemed to be new and didn't know where the hike was meant to finish and so walked further than intended which we didnt mind at all.
