Arrived September 4 about 5pm at Belfast Central. Headed to hotel then a great Chinese dinner. The next day on the 5th we went to the Titanic Museum. This was a fabulous museum probably one of the best I've seen in a long time. In addition they had a fully restored Titanic tender name Nomadic. It really gave you a flavor of how the ships were fitted at that time. Tenders were smaller ships used to ferry passengers to the ocean liners . We then went to a falafel restaurant downtown Belfast. We then went on a walking tour of Belfast. It was conducted by veterans of the Troubles. One from the IRA the other from the Ulster Defense Force . Both did Prison time for their crimes. It was fascinating. Jill drew crisp comparisons with issues in the Middle East. First hour and three quarters with one than the other. I've learned that there is a peace but little agreement. Basically both sides got tired of the violence and told their politicians to start talking. Although Belfast seems to be on the rise you can see how this has scarred the town physically and psychologically. The people in both Dublin and Belfast were more than friendly. After a great Indian dinner we headed to the hotel to get a good nights sleep for ferry ride to Glasgow Scotland.
