Wish I didn't have...a hangover

I fancied a change from my usual Thurs night down the pub in London, so we jumped in a jeep and drove further into the Thar Desert, about 60km from the Pakistan border where I met my camel for the evening, Michael Jackson. Conveniently. shouting 'Beat It' seemed to make him go faster so we trotted off to see the sunset and chilled with a few beers on the dunes. Later we went for a midnight party with our private band and danced under the stars with a bottle of whisky. The insects are big out here and few unwelcome spiders and a couple of bites in the night meant we spent most of it outside our tents drinking yet more booze!

That led on to an even more unwelcome hangover and a terrible decision to go and visit a deserted village with 3litres of water between 4 of us. You are meant to drink at least 4 each. I am sure we saw a lake on the way back which wasn't there on the way due to dehydration!!

Arrived in Jodhpur at about lunch time after a long coach journey to a bustling city (approx 1m people) with yet more cazy rickshaw drivers and their 'beep beeps'. Our hotel was amazing, it felt like I was in a tropical paradise with little huts for rooms and a brillinat pool which made up for our last algaefied one! On Sunday we trook a guided tour around some villages to find out how people survived. 1st stop was to a small family house where we were greeted with a traditional opium ritual from the head of the house. He was high as a kite when we arrived at 10am and he repeatedly felt the need to tell me how my manhood would perform if I took some Opium whilst our guide tried to explain the ritual to us!! Thanks mate! Later was a weaver, a sheperd, a pottery maker and a clothes maker which of curse didn't quite live up to the 10am slot....
