Udaipur (aka Little Venice)
Loves - Views, Birthday party
Hates - My inabaility to refuse a rum and coke.
Weather - Still hot....with the occasional wlecome downpour.
Another early start and an 8hr coach journey to Udaipur. They really do pack the coaches, they have compartments above yur head on the coaches which we would probably put luggage in - here a family squeezes in! We visited the City Place where we unknowlingly bumped into the Maharana (the Prince of the City) whilst lost. The palace and the view are beautiful and the lake is somewhere I will definately be taking my future hot wife to be...
We were then treated to a rooftop party for my birthday where we met the other group and partied till late with a lot of rum, whisky and vodka. The next day I went to a cooking class where we cooked Chapatis, Biryani rice and soem curries I cant remember the name of and then wandered around the markets and shopped for a while. In the evening we went to our guide's hotel for dinner, chilled with a film and decided to demolish another bottle of rum - this is starting to turn into a booze cruise!!

Pushkar
Loves - The history
Hates - Climbing a moutain at 5am to see the sunrise only for it to be bloody cloudy!!
I managed to get a whole 30mins of sleep before our 5am meet for our Train to Pushkar. My drinking partner, Luke and I stumbled onto the train and collapsed for the entire 8hr journey - good times. I awoke with the hangover - bad times.
Pushkar is the holiest of cities, it is where the highest of gods (Brahma), dropped a petal from the sky and it hit the ground in Pushkar to form a lake. Whether that is true or not is for you to decide....
Unfortunately for us the lake is empty at the moment so they can deepen it so it didn't look that great (or holy for that matter!) You cannot eat meat, or drink alcohol here (whih is prob a good thing after the last few days), and signs of affection are frowned upon. At 5am we awoke to climb a mountain on top which is Brahmas first wife's house. There is a yearly festival today so it was pretty busy goign up, with numnerous old ladies quite literally crawling up. Mental.
Until next time....
Namaste (Goodbye)
