Hi Everyone,
We woke up to a beautiful sunny morning Perthshire certainly turned on a lovely day for us.
Angela took us for a drive, we first had to deliver the cushions she had made last night to the shop that sells her "Harris Tweed" designs she makes in Callendar. It's a lovely small town and we enjoyed a stroll around while Angela was busy, Bill found a cap he liked to keep his head a bit warmer.
We next drove on to Creiff, another small town similar in size to Callendar and also very pretty built into the side of a hill and with snow tipped mountains in the background and the sun shinning it did indeed look very pretty. We enjoyed lunch here and after wandered around the town and found a lovely small art gallery, I was very tempted with a beautiful picture, but I think it would be too difficult to get it home!!
Leaving Creiff, we turned off onto a lesser road higher up into the mountains towards Aberfeldy, the road was narrow and twisty but oh so pretty with deep valleys and tall snow topped mountains and white sheep grazing on the hillside. Aberfeldy is another pretty small town quite touristy with many arty type shops to browse.
We drove on to Kenmore, which is called the mouth of Loch Tay, where we stopped for afternoon coffee. This is a very pretty area, todays picture is of Loch Tay, I had also hoped to capture the snow capped mountains that we could see in the distance but with the sun shinning they didn't stand out too well.
We next drove the full length of Loch Tay to Killin, this road was really narrow with small indents for passing places for oncoming traffic, we call them "praying places". The scenery along this road is really beyond words, Loch Tay shimmers in the sunshine, with the snow capped mountains casting their reflection in the water as we drive along passing through many small hamlets. The trees are yet to burst into leaf, giving us a better view of the Loch through the bare branches.
We stopped at Killin to take photo's of the rapids, which were in full flood from all the winter rains, today with the beautiful sunshine glistening on the water made a very pretty scene.
We arrived back at Angela's house for a short rest before going to Mhor84 a small restaurant 2 or 3 miles up the road from Angela's. Lovely meal and equally lovely surroundings.
On the move again tomorrow York here we come.
Chat again soon.
