After another two amazing days of diving and theory lessons! We had an exam to do. We learnt so much in the three days- including doing horrible skills like taking our masks off underwater- and our instructor turning off our air to make us practice sharing air! We both passed our exams and so are qualified Open Water divers- meaning we can dive on our own- if we wanted to!! Obviously this called for a celebration so we went on a pub crawl around Nha Trang with our dive instructor, assistant, staff from the shop, and some others we had been diving with/ met on our way!! The next day involved big breakfast (at 3) and chilling on beach!
With some regret we left Nha Trang the following day and headed up the mountains and inland to Da Lat- the first day here didn't start so well... with a mission in the phone shop- as sim not working, and cockroaches in our bedroom- which i refused to sleep in after! The following day we rented a moped and headed to see an elephant, via a boat ride- thinking it would be like elephant treking we'd heard about! It wasn't.. one poor sad elephant was chained to a tree and monkeys were in tiny cages- we decided against the elephant ride and went back to the main shore of the lake feeling gutted. The day improved with a visit to a beautiful waterfall, and the 'Crazy House'- a guest house designed by an arcitect- difficult to describe but look at pictures! We got very excited!!
The following day we headed back to the sea and to Mui Ne- a kite surfing town- we had hoped to be able to try surfing, but waves not big enough, and too many kite surfers anyway! We visited some sand dunes, I tried driving the moped we hired (for about 2 minutes until i got scared and Will had to drive again!) and we visited some really empty bars- not busy season here and really obvious as such a small town- all along one road but spread out for 4 miles! On our last day- in the afternoon we decided to find a better bit of the beach than just outside our hotel- we drove all the way along a road until we came to really posh resorts. We asked if they had a bar, and found a beautiful swimming pool area- which they said we could use- in hindsight we realised that the bar staff thought we were guests- but we used the pool anyway!!
THe following morning we got on a really posh bus to Saigon (or Ho Chi Minh City)...
Will update more soon- hope everyone is well, love to all
