Nice is a lot of coastline again, but the beaches are made of pebbles... ouch!!! If you want to rent a mattress, the rate starts at 12euro and goes up- YIKES!!! That's 16dollars US. So of course, we opted to walk the town, since we're only here for 7 hours anyway (we'll be on a night train to Venice tonight). The city is pretty, and much less touristy and therefore more affordable than other places along the riviera. There's REALLY good italian food everywhere for cheap here too. Lots of designer shops, lots of sun worshippers as well. Awesome promenade along the coast!  In case anyone was wondering, yes, nude sunbathing is accepted all along the riviera.  However, for any excited teenage boys, you must also take into account the fact that the men not only wear speedos, they wear thongs and G-strings.  So, there's definitely a give-and-take view along the beaches.  Kind of a oogle at your own risk.
