After a lot on um-ing and arr-ing, we decided to leave and go to Krabi, which would give us a good leaving point to go further up the north of Thailand and to the islands. The bus dropped us off in Krabi town, and we decided to get another bus to Ao Nang which was apparently a bit more happening. We managed to find our cheapest hotel yet, ot only 150B a night (£3 for both of us)! Kirsty was feeling a bit ill at this point and she had a giant blister on the back of her ankle so she couldn't really walk. We did manage to make it to the beach to watch the last of the sunset and see people lighting Chinese lanterns.
The next day, as we were having breakfast, we saw John's afro coming out of the hostel next door! turns out they had a similar route to us planned. We all decided to go to Railay beach, which is a secluded beach only accessible by boat, and the land either side of it is too steep. When we got there the guys signed up for rock climbing, then we set off to find the secret lagoon. It was no where to be seen, so we went to the beach on the other side which was a bit of a trek to get to! It was a great beach and loads of people were doing rock climbing on the cliffs. Simon and John jumped off the rock into the sea. We went to see the guys rock climbing for a bit, then Simon decided to go have a proper look for the secret lagoon. Turns out the 'path' to it was a steep muddy climb that we'd walk past loads of times! The lagoon was just a boggy swamp, but there was also a path to a viewpoint that overlooked the whole beach. Unfortunatley the camera stopped working at this point, mint! On the way back, Kirsty was feeling really ill, so we spent that night trying to make her better.
The next day, we booked our tickets to go to Koh Sok National Park and concentrated on making Kirsty better again. On the night, we saw the most amazing sunset yet over the beach. We saw the whole transformation from blue to orange to red and then black.
