From Kompong Cham we headed for a homestay, in a small village called Takeo, 2 hours from Phnom Penh. We got a private mini bus transfer, although we have started to realise that the public buses actually provide more leg room than the "luxury" private ones. This was also when we got an understanding of the rules of the road in Cambodia. Basically buses and lorries rule. Cars have more priority than mopeds and mopeds don't exist as far as buses are...

From Kompon Cham we made our way south to a rural home stay. The bus journey was long and the driving erratic but we finaly made it safely to our families home. The group split into two smaller groups of 8 and were allocated a wooden hut each which had four double beds in each (well wooden frames with mats anyway). The family were on site but unfortunately we never interacted with them too much, although Hannah did exchange wedding photos as their own daughter...

We left Siem Reap and headed further south west to Kompong Cham.
