Travel day to Uluru from Alice. Had to get up early as tyre dude came to look at trailer at 8am- which is my usual get up time these days ☺️ too dark and cold otherwise.... sure that will change the further north we go.
Kids grumpy they had to help packup trailer etc, downside of being across road from kids’ playground is they can see what they’re missing out on. We’re almost at the two week mark, was hoping for a little more harmony than what we are currently exhibiting, I may leave a child behind if they eye roll one more time or gripe about how much they have to do and how it’s not fair they actually have to help on their holiday.
Pit stop on way to Uluru was at Erldunda Roadhouse featuring an emu farm. The most spoilt emus in Australia, I was still happy they were behind a fence. Love watching Cam around animals, they seem drawn to his calm nature, surprisingly he can sit still for ages.
Cam claimed the first sighting of Uluru which was actually of Mt Collins still 150km out- a Grand Canyonesque formation and very impressive, but not the real deal, that came into view along with the Olgas a bit later on.
We managed a very streamline setup to just slide into the Uluru sunset viewing.
Loving the pinky, purple hues as sun went down, cheese and bikkies to wrap up a great arvo.
