Hi everyone,
We only just realised that we can get messages on this so we have just enjoyed reading them, thankyou. Especially goo to hear from sue and simon hope you are all well in sunny Doncaster. We didn't want to leave Ko Phi Phi but unfortunately our prebooked tickets ment that we had to catch the 2hour boat to Phuket. There was beautiful scenery throughout the journey untill we reached Phuket. If you are thinking of going here don't! its busy noisy dirty and basically blackpool on viagra. The beach in Patong isn't that bad but its crammed with locals offering water sports at rediculous prices. The town is the same you are harrassed every five minutes and there has even been a T- shirt printed with 'i don't need a !@#$%%$#@@ massage, tuk tuk or suit. Thankyou very much'. And on top of this the food was crap! Thankfully we were only staying there for four days. The bus journey to Phanag wasn't quite what we were expecting with several changes on to tiny busses crammed with people and luggage, not the most comfortable 12 hours of our lives. On top of this the driver tried to kill us when he stopped to have his licence checked he left the hand break off sending us rolling backward into oncoming traffic! luckily a gut in the front managed to climb over the seat and pull us back up the slope!!! When you drive over the bridge from Butterworth the Georgetown on the island of Penang you can tell streight away that malaysia has a lot more money than Thailand. There are many highrise hotels and it looks cleaner and busier, however it seems quiet for a big city and more relaxed. Theres plenty to see like the china town and we also visited the museum of Penang. Food is great lots to choose from like chinese and indian or Malay. The night market is the best place to go, we ate for 75p last night and had duck! we are going to get a bus to Kuala Lumper tomorrow and then will get the train through the national park to the Perheitian Islands, will probobly update there bye x oh and if you want to see some more pics go to www.photobucket.com and look under wesleychamberlain
