Well this is my last morning in Phnom Pen, Im headin up to Siem Reap later this afternoon. I crossed into Cambodia on 09/12/06 and spent the first day in Phnom Pen. Here I visited the killing fields which made for a sombre day. It was really quite harrowing to see the mass graves and all the skulls which are on display which had been exumed there. Its really quite an experience to visit such a place.
The next day I took the bus to Sihanoukville, Cambodia's premier beach resort! The beaches down there are amazing, long strecthes of white sand and crystal clear water. That made for a few nice days. We took a fishing trip on one of the days and took along with us a Cambodian woman who had never been on a boat before and her son. They were both really quite excited about the whole thing but the poor woman spent the entire time wretching over the side of the boat. I've never seen anyone be so ill. By the time we got off the boat she looked a right mess, such a contrast to how excited she had been before hand. I felt really aweful for her!
So Im now back in Phnom Pen, where I spent last night up late drinking with the locals which was very entertaining. Bit of a sore head this morning though. Im hoping it clears before I get on the bus! Fingers crossed.
Well speak to you all soon. Hope everyone is well.
