So afterall it looks like this altitude sickness business has to be taken seriously. Loads of folk in our group have been feeling light headed & some naseous, but last nite one of the older ladies had a really bad do. She´s just has some tea (was bout 8pm) ans was sat in bar area with a few of us. She had a sip of a glass of wine & then she was going to here room cos she felt rough. Well she got up & then blackout & collapsed. Luckily I was right next to her so I managed to catch her and there´s a nurse in the group too. The hotel staff came rushing over with oxygen. That gave us a bit of a kick up the backside cos we hadnt really heeded the advice the rep s had given us. I myself did succomb to the temptation of beer (as medicine) and felt great afterwards! The lady was okish today. I´ve just been out for a walk. Damn its cold at night. Jus, I even put the heater on in my room!!!
The main square in Cuzco is beautiful. A young lad came over asking me for a shoe shine, when I declined he stayed and chatted with me for ages. Jose he´s called, only 15 and working on the streets til 10pm. After that I let him shine & over paid him cos his shoes were falling off his feet :(
You might not have to get too jealous Lydia as the balloon trip is looky iffy. The rep never came back to us today, plus of the others that fancied it one was the woman who passed out & we were already one short. Still time tho, so fingers crossed. Take care all of you. Waz xx

Hi.....looking at the pics it looks like your having a great time!! That plane looked to small for my liking it's no wonder the women threw up...think I would have done the same!!! Went up to the lakes yesterday, weather was good, hired a motor boat had a good time, but still couldn't get away from work, they even found me there!!! Stu got an interview tomorrow, keeping my fingers crossed, don't fancy going to night school and getting a second job!!! About to get ready and go out, picking Jennifer up from work and taking her out for her birthday...that's going to cost me. Keep uploading the pics!!!

If you get up in a balloon that will be complete revenge for everything I ever did & didnt ask you about! I will be so jealous. Glad to hear you're having a good time... it sounds fantastic. To be fair Dad didd't tell us about the dress, we kinda saw it for our own eyes! :-)

Ok, so here's what's happened since last update.
We had a boat trip out into the Pacific to a place called the Ballestas Islands. Saw the quite famous Candelebra etched into the sand on the way out, then to the islands which is a crazy wildlife haunt. More birds than I ever seen or thought existed & loads of sea lions. Expecting it to be boring but it was quite cool really.
Coach back to Lima last night (yawn) for an overnite and early flight today over to Cuzco (the old capital city). I think this place is the highest "capital" in the world at 11,000 feet. They tell you to take iot easy to start with, so I´ve just been walking a little into town & had some grub. Trying to resist having a beer tonite, but I´m not sure I´ll make it. Actually I do feel pretty crap. Headache, shivers, snotty nose. Beer = medicine maybe?!?!
Cuzco already looks amazing...the Peru I forked out to see - mountainous terrain & more wild bush than you can shake a stick at. Got tour tomoz & Thursday & a free day on Friday. Might go white water rafting or hot air balloon...maybe even bungee jumping!!
I´m gonna see the rep in the morning about getting onto the Inca walk. There´s some doing just a shortened 1 day version, so maybe they might be able to get me on it (keep fingers crossed for me).
Hope you all enjoy the cricket. Regular updates expected plz as I dont have BBC World in the hotel!
