Last night I got to my hostel after a bit of a walk.... Didn't arrive til 11/11:30. But it was fine I checked in and went to find somewhere to eat. It turned out everything was shut. There was a guy selling some bannanas it cost me like 3¥ for 5 bananas. I pretty much went to bed after that.
The next day I discovered that you can't use facebook in china. This makes it a little difficult to comunicate with my friends.... Also the Internet here seems to be s***. Nothing works and it's really slow. Anyway I went for a walk to look around the city. And I Also to think about what I'm going to do like go home from here or travel etc... Walking around I think shanghai is more like se Asia then like japan or Europe. But there is some areas near the river which are quite European. I'm not sure about the Chinese people... They mostly seem friendly and helpful except when your in a crowded enviroment or something like a que they can be sort of rude.
Anyway after I walked for a bit I found a park to sit in and think. I decided to travel down to Gangzhou and fly home from there. I thought i should see if I could book a train ticket before trying to book a flight. I went to the ticket office I saw earlier. It was a little difficult because there was not really any English. I managed to book a ticket for the next day which cost me 103¥. I have no idea if it's a seat or a sleeper or if I could get a cheaper price. But I'm going where I want at 2:50 tomorrow and it cost about $15 aud so I don't really care. I'm going to a smaller city called Hangzhou, that's different to Gangzhou.... It sounds nice but maybe it's part of the backpacker trail...
After I booked that I went to book my flights which again was difficult because you can't use the credit card thing on air Asias site with chinese Internet. I managed to book it on my fone tho. So I will fly out of gangzhou on the 12 and get home on the 13th. I will spend nearly a whole day in Malaysia so I'm not sure wat to do there. Maybe go to church....
That night I went for another walk to find a pub but no luck..... It seems a bit strange here everything opens and closes at strange times. I have mostly been eating at the supermarket. I could affort some of the street food but it's quite difficult to ask for food there. There is no menu or signs, and it's quite busy so it's hard to explian "just give me what he's got". Maybe in Hangzhou it will be a little less busy and I can find one of these places to eat.
