Saturday 6th February We arrived in Puerto Madryn at midday, the sky was dull but it was warm, and very windy. It looked like we were the only cruise ship in town today. There were some sea lions that kept us entertained whilst we were being tied up - entertaining because every time the cameras came out they disappeared! We left the ship and walked the 700m (shuttle bus was for those with impaired mobility only) along the road bridge from where we were berthed...

Wednesday 3rd February Originally we weren't due into Ushuaia (pronounced oo-shy-yah) until lunchtime, but because we didn't go to Punta Arenas we arrived half a day early at 8am - it was dull and cloudy and the lights were still on in the city when we got there. The city was backed by high peaks streaked with snow. We later learned that all the fresh water for the city comes from a glacier on top of one of the peaks. Wednesday 27th January We were up early again to see the sail in to Buenos Aires. The alarm went off at 6.30 and Martin was off to the forward deck like a shot. I followed on slightly later. We had had a pilot ship with us since yesterday evening as we had to travel around 100 miles up the mouth of the huge Rio de la Plata - River Plate - to reach BA.
