A sunny and hot day today, the first hot day in about 10 days. Unbelievable to think that last night we had on beanies and jumpers beside a camp fire and tonight we watched the sun go down over the Apostle's in short sleeves.
We drove through Port Fairy a nice little town with lovely beaches, then Warrnambool a really huge town of 32,000 people.
They have caravan parks a plenty and the city and in particular the bay and waterfront area are aimed at families. So very busy every where. Would be a great place to come back to and spent at least a week to take advantage of the area.
Into the Great Ocean Road we stopped at the Bay of Islands for one of many photo stops.
Who would believe that we would run into Ian and Trudy from Kingscliff on their holiday!
More photo's along the way, check out the pics.
We were staring to get really hot and bothered by then and needed a swim.
Next stop would be Port Campbell where we were going to stop for the night.
At $71 for a site we decided to swim only (the water was freezing, plenty of people in the water with full wetsuits) and then move along to Princeton Camping Reserve in the Camps 5 book for $20 bargain price and a great spot on the Gellibrand River.
Met James and Bonny and their bub Harper on their trip to Qld
A trip up to the river mouth proved to be a highlight. The water not as cold as the ocean. The limestone walls around the river mouth looked like they could fall down at any given time.
Few fishermen on the beach trying for snapper and salmon.
We returned to have a jump off the bridge, well brave Em anyhow.
After dinner we went to watch the sunset over the 12 Apostles
Sitting here under the many stars with Pete having a nightcap and giving thanks for such a nice life.
