Heading off this morning to catch up With Tone and boys after they had to head closer to Adelaide to collect his car yesterday. A really strong northerly wind (33-40 km p/h) pushed the caravan and car around like we were on rough sea's. Port Vincent and Port Julia are both very effected by the northerly winds. The wind has turned around mid morning and the day is lovely. We are doing the tourist drive today. Went to Wattle Valley Wind Farm, we have seen wind farms in our journey last year but the size of this one outstrips them all. 55 turbines very impressive, generates 2% of SA power. We did a day trip around the National Park today. The scenery is quite spectacular and the coast line very rugged. A trail of shipwrecks from early settler years to recent times. The national park itself was prospering with Gypsum Mining on the early years. The inland lakes are full of salt but an amazing colour of turquoise blue. A leisurely start to the day. Kids had a big beach walk and Pete went squiding with his catch of 3 he was quite happy. Tone and I kicked back and read books. We left early afternoon passing through the towns of Minlaton and Point Turton. We thought we could get a site in a local caravan park for a night.
