Day 18 09/08/11
Time to move on again…. Another animal marked off Billy’s list this morning – Camel!! A tame one in a paddock with many horses, we stopped to pat him. A few more supplies in Katherine, I had to buy bottled water the water we filled the camper tank with in Alice is tastes awful! Just too spoilt with my rain water tanks at home! Also today is Census Night so we picked up some forms from the Tourist information, Ron then took us to a great swimming hole in Katherine. Warm Springs so a quick dunk before moving on, many other travellers & locals had the same idea!! We entered Litchfield National Park around 2ish,we had entered via the south end of the park which is 4wd only and after a couple of River Crossings were settled for another night! Surprise Creek Falls was tonight’s place of rest! Guess what …............... more swimming opportunities, fantastic water fall and rock pool to freshen up in. Dinner and time to fill in the Census form, no-one picking ours up……….. sealed in a envelope and to be posted before the 5th September!
