Day 20 11/08/11
Heading for Darwin today !! Four night stay to explore to Territory’s Capital ………. Woke today and enjoyed a swim down at the Rockpools before breakfast!! I thought it might be a bit cold but no it was lovely!! We took it easy on our travels out today, quick stop to look at Florence Falls. Then Wangi Falls which of course involved another swim !! Litchfield is a busy National Park but well worth a visit if up this way! We took the Gravel Rd exit from Litchfield to Darwin via Berry Springs and guess what’s at Berry Springs, you guessed it another swimming hole!! It was here we had some lunch and actually bumped into the couple that helped us out yesterday, we had a quick chat and thanked them once again! They enjoyed their wine last night so it was a winner…. Thanks again Carol we owe you! They have actually not long finished up work and are going to be spending the next 12 months travelling……… hoping to explore the High Country in Victoria!............ so maybe we will meet again! (Hopefully not the same way we meet yesterday!) Arrived at Howard Springs Caravan Park mid afternoon, after set up we headed into the Mindil Sunset Market. My gosh, what a lot of people, didn’t think Darwin was so busy!! But a great market lots of Crafty Stalls, Food Stalls and Live Entertainment! Toby enjoyed a 20minute Massage, turns out the guy was a Victorian from Ferntree Gully, which for those of you that don’t know is now where Toby’s Mum lives & not far from where Toby & I both grew up! We enjoyed a souvlaki for dinner and enjoyed some of the Live Entertainment before returning to Base Camp which is about 25kms out of Darwin!
